THE BOUTIQUE ATELIER INSIDER GUIDE
FAQs and expert advice to make your salon visit stress-free.
How early should I arrive for my appointment?
We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early to relax, settle in, and enjoy a complimentary refreshment before your service begins.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Please let us know at least 48 hours in advance so we can offer the appointment to someone on our waiting list. If you need to cancel outside of office hours, please email us at office@theboutiqueatelier.co.uk
What should I bring to my appointment?
Feel free to bring inspiration photos to help communicate your vision so we can tailor the look to your personal style. For remote workers, we offer complimentary Wi-Fi plus USB charging ports at many stations, so you can continue working during your visit.
Do you have parking available?
Yes, we have free parking at the front of the salon and an overflow car park at the back. If you need assistance, give us a call, and we’ll gladly guide you.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, all major credit cards, and contactless payments. Gift cards can also be used for services and products. Please note, we do not accept American Express (Amex).
What if I’m running late?
Please call us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate you, but if you’re more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled to avoid delays for other clients.
What is a consultation, and do I need one?
A consultation is a complimentary appointment to discuss your hair goals, assess your hair’s condition, and recommend the best services. It's required for new clients and any major changes, like colour corrections. A skin allergy test is also included during the consultation.
Do you sell the products you use in the salon?
Yes, we stock all the professional products, tools, and electrical’s used during your appointment, so you can recreate your salon look at home. Our team can recommend the best options for your hair, and we also offer online shopping through our website.
What’s the difference between highlights and balayage?
Highlights are a technique where colour is evenly distributed from root to tip for a more structured look, and require regular touch-ups. Balayage, on the other hand, is a hand-painted technique that creates a natural, sun-kissed effect with a soft, blended finish and is a more low-maintenance option. Our balayage service includes all colour steps, toning, and strengthening treatments. For highlights, additional services are booked and charged separately where needed.
Do I need a toner for my hair?
A hair toner helps personalise your colour by adding natural or enhanced tones, neutralising unwanted undertones, and refining your shade for a professional finish. If you're aiming for a specific tone, like caramel or ash blonde, it requires a two-step process, starting by lightening your hair the toner is applied as the second step. While toners are most commonly used for blonde hair, they can also benefit brunettes and redheads to enhance overall colour.
Is a blow-dry always included with my service, or can I opt out?
We understand that sometimes you may not want to pay for a blow-dry, especially if you're just having a touch-up. That's why we offer a complimentary self-service blow-dry bar, where you can style your own hair after your service using professional tools and products at no extra cost.
How do I book an appointment online?
Booking is quick and easy through our website or app. Simply select your colour services first, then add your cutting or finishing services at the end to ensure we reserve the correct time for your full experience.
